LORENZO H. ZAMBRANO
Earned his BS degree in mechanical engineering from the Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM) in 1966 and his MBA from Stanford University in 1968.
He joined CEMEX in 1968, was named CEO in 1985, and since 1995, has served as Chairman of the Board. CEMEX is one of the world's largest global cement companies; its stock is traded on the Mexican Stock Exchange (CEMEX CPO) and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (CX).
Mr. Zambrano is a member of the Board of Directors of Alfa, Grupo Financiero Banamex, Femsa, ICA, Televisa, and Vitro.
He is also a member of the IBM Board of Directors, the Citigroup International Advisory Board, and the Chairman's Council of DaimlerChrysler AG.
Furthermore, he is Chairman of the Tecnologico de Monterrey, the leading private university in Mexico and Latin America, and a member of the Boards of the Stanford Business School, the Americas Society, Conservation International, and the Contemporary Art Museum of Monterrey.
Mr. Zambrano has received some of the most prestigious awards for managerial excellence, including the Ernest C. Arbuckle Award, which was presented to him in 1998 by the Stanford Business School Alumni Association.
